Colin Keer

The Colin Keer Trust was set up on 28 March 1994 in memory of Colin Keer, a distinguished merchant banker in the City, first at Samuel Montagu & Co and later as head of European Mergers and Acquisitions at Bankers Trust Company. He died suddenly at the age of 42 and when the opportunity was presented to set up a charitable trust out of his estate, music, one of his many abiding interests, seemed the most natural art round which to build it, and so The Colin Keer Trust was born.

About the Trust

The Trust was first registered as a charity in April 1994 with Harvey Chalmers, Thomas Ponsonby and Roger Vignoles as Trustees, and it exists to award scholarships, maintenance allowances and other forms of financial assistance to advance the education of young postgraduate musicians
